UCU Lady Canons captain Hajjara Najjuko firmly believes that their upcoming National Basketball League semi-final showdown with the JKL Lady Dolphins should be approached one game at a time.

These two teams are set to meet in the postseason for the fourth consecutive time, with the previous three encounters taking place in the finals.

When questioned about the significance of winning the first game, Najjuko strongly emphasized the importance of commencing the series to avoid the challenging task of playing catch-up.

"We must begin this series with determination if we want to increase our chances of winning it, and securing victory in game one will significantly contribute to that," Najjuko conveyed to Pulse Sports.

"Last season, we found ourselves trailing 3-1, and mounting a comeback proved quite arduous. We don't want to be in that position again."

Hajjara added: "Our coach has consistently emphasized the value of staying grounded and focusing on one game at a time."

The defending champions secured their spot in the semi-finals by sweeping the KCCA Leopards 2-0 in the quarter-finals.

The JKL Lady Dolphins also enter the semi-final confrontation against the Lady Canons with momentum, achieving a 2-0 series victory over the eighth-seeded A1 Challenge.

While the JKL Lady Dolphins may be considered favourites, given their two regular season wins against the Lady Canons, the outcome of this five-game series remains unpredictable.
