The GLOBL JAM FIVES is a 5-on-5 Under-23 basketball tournament featuring women’s and men’s teams from around the world.

Uganda Gazelles forward Jane Asinde has been selected for the GLOBL JAM and will miss a few sessions with the national team before the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Tournament.

The former JKL Lady Dolphins player has already travelled to Canada for the event.

The GLOBL JAM FIVES is a 5-on-5 Under-23 basketball tournament featuring women’s and men’s teams from around the world.

The team selected by the Basketball Africa League to represent the continent will face off with Canada U23, University of Louisville (US) and Puerto Rico U23 teams.

The BAL Select Team players were identified by the BAL in collaboration with FIBA Africa and national federations across the continent.

Asinde, who recently joined the University of Texas, is the only Ugandan selected on the team and will team up with players from Senegal, Egypt, Mozambique, Mali, Ivory Coast, among others.

The event is slated to start Wednesday, July 12 and end on Sunday, July 16.

Asinde will then make the trip back to join the Gazelles camp in time for the Afrobasket slated for July 28 to August 6 in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Gazelles are yet to have a full house in training, with Jannon Otto and Claire Lamunu yet to report.

The team will start residential training on Saturday, July 15, with the 12 players selected to represent Uganda in the finals.
