Mahatlane will travel with a 14-man squad for the tour with changes from the team that toured Rwanda.

Cricket Cranes head coach Lawrence Mahatlane is optimistic his side will benefit from the tour to Qatar ahead of a busy 2023.

Mahatlane will travel with a 14-man squad for the tour with changes from the team that toured Rwanda.

"It is exciting because, from our point of view, we have worked on certain things over the last year," he told Pulse Sports.

"Many people saw it when we arrived in Rwanda from a T-20 perspective regarding our strike rate, so we will try again to improve it in Qatar."

Team captain Brian Masaba added that the team is ready based on their three months of getting into shape.

"We are ready because we have been training for the last three months."

"It's a big year for us with that Africa qualifier later in the year, so we need as much cricket as we can," he noted.

"Qatar is not a bad side, they have ranked one slot ahead of us in the T-20 rankings, so we're looking forward to going out there and playing some cricket."

The team welcomed back batsman Ronak Patel and Alpesh Ramjani, who both missed the Rwanda tour and Riazat Ali Shah, who is back from injury.

Ronald Lutaaya also makes his second national team trip after Kigali; the youngster impressed at the Waterfalls Men's T-2O series claiming the best batsman award as he helped his side Itanda Kayakers win the series.
