Victoria Pearls’ vice-captain Janet Mbabazi was quickly the mastermind of Uganda’s seven-wicket victory over Rwanda as the Pearls picked up their first win of the Victoria series on Tuesday at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The reigning USPA Nile Special female cricketer of the year, who posted an unbeaten 30 off 31 balls and picked up one wicket, says the team needs to trust the process as the tournament goes on.
“I wanted to keep everything simple, Rwanda really bowled well, but we kept in there,” Mbabazi told Pulse Sports.
“It was a good win for us, a confidence booster for sure, so we now need to trust the process and put to use everything we practice into our next game.”
Uganda fielded well, limiting Rwanda to 61 all out, with Irene Olumo and captain Consulate Aweko picking up two wickets each in their four overs, respectively.
