The Ligue 1 side made history, qualifying for Europe's elite competition for the first time in their 121-year history

Stade Brestois have achieved a historic milestone by securing automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season. This momentous occasion was sealed with a convincing 3-0 victory over Toulouse FC on Sunday night at the Stadium de Toulouse.

The win for Brest, coupled with a draw for LOSC Lille, ensured a historic place for The Pirates in Europe's premier club competition for the first time in their history.

Brest beat Toulouse for Champions League glory

Brest needed Lille to either lose or draw while securing a win themselves against Toulouse to clinch automatic qualification. Mahdi Camara broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, giving Brest a crucial 1-0 lead and Jordan Amavi doubled the advantage through a beautifully executed free kick.

The visitors sealed their triumph in the 90th minute when Kenny Lala scored, made it 3-0. At this point, Brest and Lille were tied on points and goal difference, however, the situation took a favourable turn for Brest when Nice scored a late goal against Lille, causing their rivals to drop points.

Favorable results clinch Champions League spot for Brest

Thanks to the favorable outcome in the Lille-Nice match, Brest secured third place in the Ligue 1 standings and an automatic spot in the Champions League.
