"The tournament has been very competitive and my players have tried to give their best, winning a bronze medal would be befitting.”

Uganda U20 Women's team will bag a bronze medal should they get the better of Senegal in the African Games third place playoff at Cape Coast on Thursday.

The Queen Cranes and Senegal fell to Nigeria (2-0) and Ghana, respectively in the semifinals, with the latter pair slated to fight for Gold.

In what has been a massively competitive campaign for Uganda, head coach Sheryl Botes wants her team to sign out with a medal.

“We are ready and prepared for this match against Senegal," said Botes as quoted by journalist Joel Muyita.

"The tournament has been very competitive and my players have tried to give their best, winning a bronze medal would be befitting.”

“We have tried to look at how they play, how they want to create 3v1 situations with their number eight being the link to the forwards. We have looked at the approach in general and hopefully, the players can execute what we have planned.” Botes added.

The Queen Cranes will have the duo of Dorcus Lwalisa and Krusum Namutebi back from suspension, having been forced to the sidelines in the defeat to Nigeria.
