KCCA had endured a tough start to the campaign that had them languish in the relegation zone for weeks before the turnaround that has seen them pick three victories in five games.

Despite winning two Uganda Premier League games on the bounce for the first time this season, KCCA FC head coach is not buying into the excitement that the club is finally back to its best.

The versed tactician is rather focused on taking a step at a time as they steadily mount a fight back to the top.

KCCA had endured a tough start to the campaign that had them languish in the relegation zone for weeks before the turnaround that has seen them pick three victories in five games.

"We're proud and happy, but we're still focused on a game-by-game progression," Mubiru said in his pre-match interview ahead of their Thursday match against UPDF FC in Bombo.

"We only mind about the performance for the next game, on performing better than the previous games, and slowly we shall get there."

KCCA beat rivals SC Villa 2-1 Soltilo Bright Stars FC (3-0) in their last two matches, and Mubiru will be keen on seeing his team progress further.

Ahead of the trip to UPDF, KCCA have managed just one clean-sheet in their six previous matches on the road this season, conceding ten goals in the process.

"It's not just a concern of the defensive line, but the entire team and we are concerned but want to rectify."

KCCA and UPDF have shared 12 previous meetings in the top flight, with the latter winning eight as compared to the latter's one, while three games have ended in stalemates.

The visitors edged last season's game 1-0 in Bombo, courtesy of a goal from the now departed Mohammed Ssenoga Kagawa.

At the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, it ended in a one-all stalemate, as Simon Tshisungu Kankonde netted for KCCA, while Daniel Oyirwoth grabbed the leveller.
