Herbert Kibiringo struck in the 39th minute against Kaaro Karungi to give Mbale Heroes their first goal and win in the betPawa Big League on Sunday.

The newly-promoted club had scrapped two points in goalless draws against Kataka and Kigezi Homeboyz in their opening two fixtures.

However, the Asaph Mwebaze-coached side broke the yoke on Sunday through the striker completing Shafiq Kwikiriza's assist. The latter is on-loan from BUL FC courtesy of FUFA’s double-licensing system.

Caterpillars march on

Earlier on Saturday, Onduparaka made good use of thei home advantage as they clipped Kataka 1-0 in Arua.

Their solo strike came in the 55th minute through substitute Dominic Abonga’s strike.

For the second match running, the team’s head coach Ceasar Okhuti slotted himself into the mix substituting Boy Fazilinho in the second half.

In Lira, Jinja North United continued with their winless streak forcing Blacks Power to a goalless draw.
