Kayiwa made it 2-0 in the 71st minute with an audacious attempt from the penalty spot for his eighth league goal of the season. He then added a third in the 87th minute with a stunning freekick that flew into the top corner of the net.

Express FC returned to winning ways in emphatic style with a 4-1 victory over Onduparaka in a thrilling StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at Wankulukuku stadium on Friday.

The Red Eagles started brightly and could have taken an early lead when Boban Zirintusa missed from the penalty spot after just 10 minutes of play.

However, he made amends a 14 minutes later by finding the back of the net with a well-placed header.

The Red Eagles who were on a run of 11 league games minus defeat, continued to pour forward.

Zirintusa was agonizingly denied by the cross bar, while Arthur Kiggundu’s header was inches off target, as Express showed their more pragmatic side.

But they had to play the last 30 minutes of the game a man less after Derrick Ngoobi was sent off for poor reaction in the aftermath of a strong challenge on William Gama.

Ngoobi who had survived a caution, retaliated against his stricken opponent forcing referee Richard Kimbowa to brandish a red card.

But the Red Eagles continued to soar, completing their rout and what would be a first league double over the Caterpillars with three Allan Kayiwa inspired goals inside the last 20 minutes.

Kayiwa made it 2-0 in the 71st minute with an audacious attempt from the penalty spot for his eighth league goal of the season.

He then added a third in the 87th minute with a stunning freekick that flew into the top corner of the net.

The former Vipers SC man, handed the captain’s armband ahead of Isa Lumu turned provider for Marvin Oshaba who rounded the goalkeeper for an easy finish in added time.

Onduparaka managed to pull one back through William Gama's late penalty, but it proved to be a mere consolation as Express FC had run away with the game by that point.

The result sees Express FC move up to 22 points but remain 11th on the league standings, while Onduparaka remains bottom of the log with just 10 points from 18 games.

Express FC will next travel to face BUL on April 8 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, while Onduparaka's next game will also be against BUL on April 4.
