There was a sizeable number of fans that descended to the Kigaaya Primary School Grounds to witness the highly-billed StarTimes FUFA Big League derby between hosts Kitara and Booma.

The match ended in a frustrating 1-all draw to the hosts but they will be comforted by the handsome gate collections.

Through a letter of appreciation to the fans who turned up, Club President Deo Kasozi revealed that the club had fetched shs. 21.7 million from ticket sales.

“This is not a result that we desired but we hope for a better performance in our subsequent fixtures,” Kasozi said of the result before his announcement:

“We realized 21.7 million shillings from our gate collections. The money will support some of the club activities in line with our budget 2022/2023 budget,” he revealed.

This comes just a day after the club sealed a six-month shs 50 million sponsorship deal with Kinyara Sugar Limited.

The club announced revenues of over shs. 30 million from their home matches in December. The games were against Ndejje University, Luweero United and Adjumani Town Council.

Kitara’s gate collection since December;

December 29th – Kitara FC 4-0 Luweero United (shs. 11.6 million)

December 15th - Kitara FC 5-1 Ndejje University (shs. 8.7 million)

January 12th - Kitara FC 2-1 Adjumani TC (shs. 10.3 million)

February 17th – Kitara FC 1-1 Booma (shs. 21.7 million)
