However, Isabirye immediately trashed the claims, acting surprised and stressed he had no knowledge of the appointment.

Former Vipers SC head coach Alex Isabirye has rubbished claims of being appointed as Gaddafi FC Technical Director.

According to a Wednesday evening Gaddafi statement, Isabirye had been named into the job on a one-year employment contract.

"Gaddafi Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Isabirye as the Technical Director on a one-year deal."

However, Isabirye immediately trashed the claims, acting surprised and stressed he had no knowledge of the appointment.

"Fake news: please disregard this fake news post being shared by Gaddafi Football Club and treat it with the contempt it deserves," Isabirye said via his official X handle.

"I have not been appointed by any club and I'm very surprised about this post claiming my appointment without my consent. It's not true," he summed.

The versed tactician only parted ways with Vipers in July this year, having delivered their first domestic double last season.

Isabirye is a proven winner who not only clinched the Uganda Premier League championship with Vipers but also URA FC.

He also delivered Uganda Cups for Vipers, URA and BUL FC, stamping his name as one of the best in the business currently.
