Manchester United are reportedly set to provide competition for Andre Onana with Benfica's Odysseas Vlachodimos.

Manchester United are reportedly in the market for a goalkeeper despite signing Andre Onana, and they are said to be interested in Benfica's Odysseas Vlachodimos.

The 29-year-old German-born Greece international is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Eagles and was important in their Portuguese League triumph last season.

He joined Benfica in 2018 from Panathinaikos and only recently signed a contract extension in March, keeping him until 2027; however, according to reports, the Red Devils are looking to bring him in this summer transfer window.

Man United want Odysseas

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are hot on the heels of the Stuttgart academy graduate as they seek to provide quality competition for their Cameroonian shot-stopper.

Although they only signed Onana this summer, for all intents and purposes, he was brought in to become the new first-choice goalkeeper following the exit of last season's Premier League Golden Glove winner David De Gea.

However, unlike last season, when the position of De Gea's deputy was a problem, with the exit of Dean Henderson, the club are looking to have two top-quality goalkeepers.

According to TransferMarkt, his current value is €16 million, but the Red Devils might have to pay above that to prise him away from the Portuguese champions, given his importance.
