Mayanja replaces former teammate Morley Byekwaso who resigned from his position on Sunday after KCCA FC were eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup following a 1-0 loss to Soltilo Bright Stars in the quarter-finals at the Kavumba Recreation grounds.

KCCA FC have confirmed the appointment of club legend Jackson Mayanja as head coach until the end of the season.

Mayanja replaces former teammate Morley Byekwaso who resigned from his position on Sunday after KCCA FC were eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup following a 1-0 loss to Soltilo Bright Stars in the quarter-finals at the Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Mayanja will be tasked with ensuring that the club steps up its performances in the league’s final bend having gone winless in their last five outings across all competitions.

The Kasasiro boys lost 2-0 away to URA FC on Wednesday and sit second on 38 points but with two games in hand in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Jackson Mayanja had two playing stints at KCCA FC and coached the club in 2005. Thi will be his second stint at Lugogo.

He has also previously coached various clubs like URA FC, Simba SC, AS Kigali and most recently, the Uganda Hippos.

KCCA FC face SC Villa next in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Saturday.
