Football Magera not under pressure at Villa

Villa lie fifth on the 15-team SUPL log with 24 points midway through the campaign but towards the end of the first round reports suggested that some members of the Villa hierarchy were not contented with Magera in the dug out.

The Uganda Premier League table leaders announced their new acquisition Sunday evening, just hours to their start of the Stanbic Uganda Cup campaign against KJT in Bugolobi.

Kizza joins a list of returnees from the paid ranks and back to Lugogo.

Allan Okello is back from Algeria’s Paradou while Muhammad Shaban has been to Raja Casablanca and returned to Lugogo via Vipers and Onduparaka.

KCCA through and through

From the moment Kizza returned from his stint at FC Arouca in Portugal, it became apparent he would reunite with his former teammates at Lugogo.

The announcement on Sunday was only a confirmation of the public secret.

Kizza played for the KCCA Soccer Academy between 2015 and 2016 before going out to feature for Maroons on loan in the 2016-17 season.

He returned to Lugogo in January 2017 and played for the senior team for three and a half years before joining Montreal Impact in Canada in 2020.

His stay in Canada was cut short in 2021 and having joined Arouca for the 2022/23 season in the Primeira Liga in Portugal, the marauding left back is now back where it all started.

Kizza will now fight for a slot on the left side of Morley Byekwaso’s defense with the likes of veteran Brian Majwega and Rogers Atube.
