Former Wakiso Giants midfielder Owen Baba Kasule finally got off the mark for his New York Red Bulls II side as they edged Huntsville City 2-1 on Friday night at the Joe Davis stadium in the MLS Next Pro season.

Ibrahim Ssekagya’s side took the lead after nine minutes through Ronald Donkor but Huntsville City FC levelled the score 19 minutes later as both sides ended the first half all square.

The second half got along as the away side tried to conjure up a winner, and the opportunity finally presented itself in the 68th minute when Owen Baba Kasule drew a penalty after being fouled in the box.

Kasule dusted himself up and converted the spot kick in the 70th minute to give his side the lead again and open his account for the club he joined in January; New York Red Bulls II was able to see the result.

The 23-year-old also shared his excitement about reaching the milestone on his official Twitter handle.

“Account opened and more to come, Insha Allah, great away win and great team performance, come on, reds, on to the next one,” Kasule tweeted.

Compatriot Frank Ssebuufu came on in the 62nd minute of the game; the win moves New York Red Bulls II to 34 points in fourth position after ten games played in the Eastern Conference.

The team from the big apple have managed five wins, two losses and two losses in this campaign thus far.
