Liverpool finally disclose details about their next manager.

Arne Slot is set to undertake a monumental task in the world of soccer as he steps into the shoes of Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's manager.

The announcement of Slot's appointment came on Monday, following the sealing of a long-term contract with the six-time European Cup winners and 19-time English champions.

He enters a position previously held by an Anfield legend in Klopp, who famously ended Liverpool's 30-year drought for the English title in 2020 and achieved a comprehensive collection of major trophies during his tenure at the Merseyside club.

Slot arrives with an impressive track record of his own, having led Feyenoord to the Dutch title last year and securing the Dutch Cup this season.

His appointment is scheduled to officially commence on June 1, with his contract extending through to 2027.

The anticipation surrounding Slot's appointment had been building for some time, with the 45-year-old Dutchman confirming talks with Liverpool as early as April and announcing himself as Klopp's successor just last week.

Slot has been at the helm of Feyenoord since 2021, following his tenure with AZ Alkmaar. His coaching methods and swift achievements with both clubs have elevated his reputation in the soccer world.

Klopp's decision to step down at the end of the season reverberated across the soccer landscape, marking the end of a remarkable era.

The German maestro solidified his status as one of the finest managers of his generation, with a trophy cabinet boasting the Champions League triumph in 2019, the Premier League title in 2020, and both the English League Cup and FA Cup in 2022.

His final act before departing was securing the League Cup in February, adding to Liverpool's illustrious trophy haul during his tenure, which also included the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup victories, along with two Champions League final appearances.

Liverpool took a meticulous approach in identifying Klopp's successor, with former sporting director Michael Edwards leading the charge after returning in March as the club's chief executive of football under Fenway Sports Group ownership.

Edwards played a pivotal role in Klopp's success, overseeing key signings such as Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, and Virgil van Dijk.

With Slot now at the helm, Liverpool fans will eagerly anticipate his ability to continue the club's legacy of success, placing their trust in Edwards' keen eye for coaching talent. Despite other contenders like Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim, Slot emerged as the chosen successor to lead.
