Real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo has been in fine form for the club but could be set for a sensational return to the capital as Real Madrid swoop around.

LALIGA giants Real Madrid have set sights on signing another talented young player this time in Spain.

Real are said to be reportedly monitoring former superstar Takefusa Kubo who has impressed at fellow LALIGA outfit Real Sociedad.

Los Blancos could move in for the Japanese playmaker as they look to provide cover for manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Kubo attraction

According to Madrid-based Madrid Universal via Sport, Ancelotti’s Madrid remain a strong admirer of La Real’s Kubo.

The 22-year-old has proven to be a big hit with Sociedad following his departure from Santiago Bernabeu last summer.

Kubo joined Real in the summer of 2019 from Japanese side FC Tokyo.

However, he spent the next three years as a journeyman on loan to other LALIGA teams before he finally joined Sociedad on a permanent basis last summer.

He joined the club for six million euros with Real retaining 50 per cent rights on the Japan international.

Since signing for Sociedad, the Japanese has grown into a key member of Imanol Alguacil’s side, scoring 12 goals and 10 assists in 48 matches.

This form has alerted the giants from the capital who may consider activating their 50 per cent stake in the player to bring him back to the Bernabeu.

He has registered three goals and an assist in the first four LALIGA games, and as such Real Madrid are now firmly monitoring the 22-year-old’s progress closely.

Sociedad have inserted a €60 million release clause in Kubo’s contract.

Considering that Real Madrid still own 50% of the winger’s rights, it would enable them to sign him for €30 million – an option that they are not ruling out at this point.
