Frank 'Zaga' Tumwesigye joined Uganda Premier League newbies Kitara FC after his departure from boyhood Vipers SC in the summer transfer window.

He left after helping the Venoms to two UPL titles and as Uganda Cups across two spells, with a loan stint with Express in between.

Zaga has since established himself as a stalwart at the club, featuring in each of their nine games in the league this season.

“I’m going back to a place that is very familiar, the people are not new because some are my friends," Zaga started in an interview with his new club.

"I know it will be a bit strange, but that will not be a problem because, as a player, when you move to another club, these moments are bound to happen."

Zaga's appearance-tally at Kitara, is just two fewer than the games he managed last season at Vipers.

“I have been in this place severally, it’s special because I played and trained here but changes happen in football. I’ll be returning to St Mary’s as a Royal," he summed.

Kitara has become the latest hub for former Vipers players, with the likes of Paul Mucureezi, Najib Yiga and Farouk Yiga all following in similar steps.

While Vipers are second on the UPL log with 20 points, Kitara are third with one point less, making their meeting a crunch tie.
