To reach the final, Pirates brushed aside Platinum Credit Heathens in another one-sided encounter ending 24-07.

The Stanbic Black Pirates have made it two wins in two circuits after lifting the Kitgum Sevens Sunday evening.

Having won the Stone City Sevens to start the Nile Special Sevens Championship, the Sea Robbers went all the way again in Northern Uganda to continue setting the pace in the title race.

Marvin Odongo’s charges demolished Jinja Hippos 24-00 in a one-sided final at BOMA Grounds to end the two-day event in jubilation.

The Black Pirates made light work of the defending champions in the final, with tries from Mubarak Wandera, Sidney Gongodyo, Timothy Kisiga and Arnold Atukunda doing the magic on the day.

To reach the final, Pirates brushed aside Platinum Credit Heathens in another one-sided encounter ending 24-07.

Before that, the Bweyogerere-based side needed sudden death to squeeze past Makerere Impis in the tournament’s first quarter-final.

With the two sides tied at 12-12, team captain Isaac Massa touched down for the Pirates to win 17-12.

Kobs, who lost to the Hippos in the quarter-final, got the better of Heathens to finish third.

Brian Makalama’s troops won the bronze game 24-14.

In the women’s category, Black Pearls defeated Thunderbirds 21-05 in the final to take home the trophy.

Victory for the Pirates gave them maximum points to continue setting the pace in the title race.
