Nigeria and KAA Gent striker Gift Orban has found his way into a list of top players set for a big move in Europe.

Orban is one of the 100 players revealed by statistics outfit CIES Football Observatory in their latest statistical issue. 

The 21-year-old has been he fine form since he joined Belgian side Gent earlier this year.

Orban’s form at Gent

The Nigerian has proven to be an astute buy by Gent following his move from Norway back in January 2023.

Orban has attracted the attention of some of the top clubs in the world with his excellent performances and goals at Gent.

He netted over 20 goals across all competitions since his arrival in January for Gent.

Orban appears not to be slowing down anytime soon as he has continued this season from where he stopped in the last.

The Super Eagles hopeful has already scored two goals in just three Jupiler outings while adding three more (his first hat-trick of the season) in two matches in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. 

CIES list for Orban

In the list, as monitored by Pulse Sports, the youngster was the only Nigerian named by the CIES.

According to the reliable Football Observatory body, Orban is the 52nd player ready for that big break and move after impressing in Belgium.

The ranking was arrived on taking account of players born on or before 2002 who are not playing in any of the top five leagues in the world.

It also takes into account their experience over the past 12 months, with Nigeria’s Orban recording an experience of 49.7 while he is valued at 12.8 million Euros. 

Meanwhile, Orban is not the only African on the list with Morocco’s Bilal El-Khannous ranked 13th in the world with an experience of 56.2.
