Incredible stat shows Manchester United are doomed against Bayern Munich

Manchester United are set to face perennial German champions Bayern Munich in the first game of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League, but the Red Devils will go into the fixture with trepidation after seeing this stat. 

The Red Devils have made a worrying start to the new Premier League season, winning only one game in five, but things could get even worse with a trip to Allianz Arena on the horizon as a welcome to the UCL. 

Manchester United have beaten Bayern Munich only once in eight attempts since pipping the Bavarians in the final of the UEFA Champions League in 1999. 

Given the state of things between the two clubs, it is increasingly unlikely that the Red Devils will get another victory against Bayern Munich when they meet on Wednesday night. 

Bayern Munich, unlike Manchester United, are in superb form, especially in the UCL group stages, and against the Red Devils, the German club could extend their already incredible record in the competition. 

Currently, Bayern Munich are on a run of 34 games in the UEFA Champions League group stages without a defeat, having won 31 of those games. 

The Bavarian giants have won all of their last 12 UCL group stage matches in a row, posting a perfect group stage record for two consecutive seasons. 

In that time, they beat Barcelona, Inter, and Benfica during this spell and will be looking to add Manchester United to the list of conquered names.
