According to MaisFutebol, via GSP, the target is Portuguese international Diogo Costa from FC Porto.

City is reportedly preparing a €60 million bid for Costa, who has 36 caps for Portugal and is represented by Jorge Mendes' Gestifute agency.

The €60 million offer is €15 million below Costa's €75 million release clause, which runs until 2027, suggesting tough negotiations ahead. This will be the first major challenge for new sporting director Hugo Viana, appointed this spring, replacing Txiki Begiristain.

Manchester City began reshaping their squad in the winter transfer window, investing over €200 million to acquire Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis. The spending continued into the summer with the additions of Rayan Aït-Nouri, Sverre Nypan, Rayan Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders for another €150 million.

The most notable departure so far is Kevin De Bruyne's move to Napoli. Right-back Kyle Walker, returning from loan at AC Milan, has been transferred to Burnley, and Yan Couto has been sold to Borussia Dortmund for €20 million.

Maximo Perrone has joined Como for €13 million, and English media reports suggest that two more "veterans," İlkay Gündoğan, 34, and Mateo Kovacic, 31, are also on their way out. The departure of Jack Grealish, 29, who spent much of last season on the bench, has already been announced.
