The Victoria Pearls got off to a winning start with a seven-wicket victory over neighbours Rwanda in their first game at the Lugogo cricket oval.
Janet Mbabazi’s unbeaten 30 off 31 balls and Stephanie Nampiina’s 18(27) helped Uganda chase Rwanda’s 62 all out and win.
Uganda’s next assignment was against tournament favourites in the United Arab Emirates, the former won the toss and posted 98/7, but the Victoria Pearls pulled through, posting 99/4 to win by six wickets.
The opening stand of 31 from Kevin Awino 25(33) and Alako Proscovia 18(16) got Uganda on track with Immaculate Nakyisuuyi 18(16) and Stephanie Nampiina 13(15) not out lifting the pearls to victory.

The Victoria Pearls put up a spirited fight in the field to limit Tanzania to 76 all out as they picked a win by three runs on Friday at the Lugogo cricket oval.
This time, a third win was on the cards against Tanzania as Uganda won by three runs at the Lugogo cricket oval.
Kevin Awino led Uganda with the bat picking up 27(24), with Immaculate Nakisuuyi adding 10(16). Ritah Musali added 13(9) not out.
The washed-out game against Kenya and the final against Tanzania means that the Pearls earned a fourth and fifth win in the tournament.

The Victoria Pearls put up a slow but purposeful chase as they picked up a six-wicket win over UAE in the Victoria Series on Thursday at the Lugogo cricket oval.

Captain Consy Aweko picked up the most wickets (7), while assistant Janet Mbabazi also managed six wickets at the tournament.
