Mugabi's side has experienced a winless streak, enduring four consecutive league game losses, a skid he confidently asserts will be tackled following the international hiatus.

Bevis Mugabi and his Motherwell team are currently navigating a challenging period in the Scottish Premiership, and the Uganda Cranes centre-back is eyeing the international break as a pivotal moment to rectify their course.

Mugabi's side has experienced a winless streak, enduring four consecutive league game losses, a skid he confidently asserts will be tackled following the international hiatus.

“The result and performance at the weekend were subpar; we’ll utilize the international break to rebound more robustly,” Mugabi told the club media.

Motherwell, having experienced a demanding spell, last celebrated a win on 3rd September with a 1-0 triumph over Hearts of Midlothian.

Since then, ‘The Steelmen’ have suffered losses to St Mirren (1-0), Rangers (1-0), Celtic (2-1), and Livingstone (2-0), both at home and away, with Mugabi actively participating in all matches.

Currently stationed at the fifth spot with 10 points in their kitty, Motherwell trails by eleven points behind table leaders Celtic FC after completing eight rounds of games.

In another development, Mugabi was excluded from the 23-man squad assembled by interim head coach Morley Byekwaso for two friendly matches against Mali and Zambia.

The Uganda Cranes will first lock horns with Mali in Bamako this Friday, then proceed to the United Arab Emirates for a clash with Zambia on Tuesday, 17th October.

Bevis Mugabi, who last took the field for the Uganda Cranes during their final 2023 AFCON qualifier victory against Niger in September—assisting in securing a 2-0 win—couldn't propel the team towards qualification. Although the win was a positive note, it fell short of securing a spot in the tournament.

Conversely, Tanzania clinched the second spot after battling out a goalless draw with group leaders Algeria, ultimately finishing one point ahead of Uganda. The draw for the 2023 AFCON is scheduled for Thursday in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
