'Mukwano Gwabangi' had also failed to win a single league match in the past three losing to Mbarara City FC (3-1) and KCCA (4-3) plus a one-all stalemate with Soltilo Bright Stars.

Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC put their recent administrative and operational struggles on the side to glide past UPDF FC, beating them 3-1 in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.

The club have recently been in the spotlight over managerial uncertainties regarding head coach Alex Isabirye, financial constraints and player absences, but that didn't matter as they picked maximum points at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

'Mukwano Gwabangi' had also failed to win a single league match in the past three losing to Mbarara City FC (3-1) and KCCA (4-3) plus a one-all stalemate with Soltilo Bright Stars.

But, Joshua Musoke, Kevin Ssekimbegga and in-form forward Isaac Wagoina struck the Red Eagles to three points on the evening.

Wagoina was making it his tenth goal in the league this season, with Nelson Senkatuka (11) the only player with more.

Meanwhile, Junior Luutu Abasi netted UPDF's only goal on enemy territory.

While the result had Express ascend to seventh on the log with 29 points, it, on the other hand continued to sink UPDF in deeper agony.

The Army side is 15th on the 16-team table with just 10 points in 19 games, with relegation calling.

In their subsequent games, as Express will be visiting historical nemesis SC Villa on March 9, on the same day, UPDF will be hosting Busoga United.
