Express had gone 11 games without a win but have turned their season around to climb into the top 10 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League table.

There were fears that 2020/21 Startimes Uganda Premier League champions Express FC would battle relegation after enduring a tough three months from November without a win.

However, the discussion has shifted overnight following their two consecutive victories over relegation-threatened Onduparaka and BUL in their last two outings.

Anwar Ntege and Boban Zirintusa scored in the first half as they frustrated BUL on Good Friday to move into the top ten.

Their coach James Odoch, who was under fire a fortnight ago, now believes the team’s troubles are now past and has set his target on a top-four finish.

“We’ve tried to improve on several aspects like scoring goals

“We still have a long way to improve on several aspects of our game but we’re on the right path,” Odoch said of the team’s progress.

The Red Eagles, who are perching in the 10th position with 25 points, are 18 behind SC Villa and out of the title contention but Odoch feels a top-four is achievable.

“Our main target was to finish in the top four but if the worse comes to the worst, we will fight to be in the top six. The most important thing is that we have started scoring plenty of goals and defending them as well,” Odoch added.

BUL occupies fourth place with 30 points, only five ahead of the Wakulukuku side.
