The victory lifted Collins Ahumuza’s charges from the relegation zone to the seventh position on the table standings with four points after four games.

Meanwhile, the St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende-based side Wakiso slipped to eighth place with four points as well, but UCU has a better goal difference.

Elsewhere, defending champions Kampala Queens were 2-0 victors over Rines SS at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Sunday.

Crested Cranes striker Fazila Ikwaput opened the scoring as early as the second minute of the game, while Zainah Nandedde added another goal in the 18th minute.

The Queens of Soccer maintained their lead with 10 points after four games, whilst Rines is languishing in the ninth position with a single point after the same number of games.

Meanwhile, Asubo Gafford registered their first campaign point after holding Uganda Martyrs to a 2-2 draw at St. Gerald’s playgrounds on Saturday.

Zaina Nambozo netted a brace in the fourth and 18th minutes, forcing Martyrs to come from two goals down to snatch a point in their own backyard through Latifah Kakasi and Moureen Kiiza’s goals in the 38th and 42nd minutes, respectively.

Asubo remained at the bottom of the standings with one point, while Martyrs also stayed seventh with seven points.

The other game played on Matchday four ended in a 2-2 stalemate between Lady Doves and She Maroons at Katusabe Stadium in Masindi on Sunday.

Doves and Maroons are separated by a single point with the latter occupying the fifth position with six points whilst the former is placed sixth with five points.

The former has a couple of players on national duty. The Queens Cranes were edged 1-0 by Senegal on the road in the first leg on Saturday.
