Just over a month after being axed from the Uganda Cranes head coach job, Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has kick-started work in his new position with the Libyan senior national football team.

The 'Serbian Wolf' is busy again, after signing a two-year employment contract with the North African nation less than a week back.

The Serbian tactician took over the position recently held by Libyan native Salem Al-Jalali, who had been appointed on an interim basis for the past months.

Micho is thus expected to be in the dugout as Libya take on Liberia on Saturday before playing Niger on October 17.

However, his first real test as Libya's head coach will be leading the country through the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

They kickstart the qualification campaign against Eswatini on November 13 before hosting Cameroon a week later in Group D.

Like Uganda under Micho, Libya failed to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

They finished at the base of Group J having collected just four points, with Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea making it to the finals, slated for Ivory Coast in January.

Meanwhile, Micho has previously coached at Sudan's Al Hilal, St George (Ethiopia), SC Villa, Rwanda, Yugoslavia U-20, Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Zamalek of Egypt and the Zambian national team, the Chipolopolo.
