NEC FC, the newly promoted league team, is set to have their stellar start in the top flight examined as they travel to Wankulukuku to face record league champions, S.C Villa, for matchday three on Friday.

With two victories in two games and six goals under their belt, Hussein Mbalangu’s team faces a significant challenge against the Joogos.

However, team captain, Marvin Kavuma believes this is the prime opportunity for the Bugolobi-based side to showcase their mettle.

“We’re competing against seasoned league champions with a significant fan base. However, we’re undaunted; our objective is clear – secure a win,” Kavuma articulated during a post-match press conference.

Head coach, and former SC Villa player, Hussein Mbalangu acknowledges the prowess of the blues but emphasizes his team’s preparedness.

“Facing record league champions requires utmost preparedness; our strategy remains consistent with our past games – secure a victory,” Mbalangu asserted, calling upon fans for their unwavering support.

Dushan Stojanovic’s side is aiming to secure their first win of the season, having acquired one point from the games played so far.

Conversely, NEC is eyeing their third win of the season, and second away, after a triumphant match against newly promoted Mbarara City FC on matchday one.

The match is scheduled to commence at 4 p.m. at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
