KCCA head coach Abdallah Mubiru conceded they will miss their main talisman but also asserted the other players would step up for the challenge.

Against their biggest rivals Vipers SC, this Friday, KCCA FC will miss the Uganda Premier League joint-leading top-scorer (11) Muhammad Shaban.

Shaban accumulated three yellow cards that warrant an automatic one-game suspension and will thus be out against the Venoms at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

KCCA head coach Abdallah Mubiru conceded they will miss their main talisman but also asserted the other players would step up for the challenge.

"Yes, we are going to miss him," Mubiru said in his pre-match interview.

"But, we have good players at the same time," he noted before adding: "We have prepared them and they are ready."

"So, Shaban is going to be out, but we have replacements, whom we think they also want to put a mark on their careers. So, we're not mourning anybody," Mubiru asserted.

"It's another important game for KCCA. We have prepared well, all players are in good shape and ready to compete."

KCCA currently sit 10th on the 16-team log with 26 points in 20 games, while Vipers are fourth with 35 points in 18.

Mubiru's charges ran out 3-1 winners in the first round, courtesy of Usama Arafat and a Muhammad Shaban brace.

Both scorers will be out of the contest as the former is with the Uganda U20 team for the All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
