Veterans Queentor Aoko, Mary Mwangi, Veronica Abuga, and Josephine Abwom miss out on the tournament to make way for debutants Lynz Nabwire, Ann Wanjira, and Charity Muthoni who will be competing in the continental event for the first time.

This will mark the second edition of the tournament that has attracted the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Rwanda, and Tanzania being the other participants aside from the hosts.

During the first edition of the event held in 2019, Zimbabwe beat Uganda and Kenya by a clean sweep to win. It was reported that they could not manage to attend and defend their title due to other commitments.

The tournament will feature ten matches in a round robin format with the top two advancing to the final.

Kenya will be looking to build on the momentum gained during the Quadrangular series last December that saw them into the finals, albeit losing to tournament favourites, Uganda. The UAE come into the series as the highest-ranked T20 team at 15, and Tanzania second at 16.

Kenya will play the opening match of the series on the morning of Tuesday, April 18 at 9:30 am against the UAE Women at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, which will be the venue for all the matches.
