Omollo made a return to the matchday squad after being left out a couple of times for Oostende's recent league matches

Harambee Stars midfielder Johana Omollo was an unused substitute as Oostende managed to beat Zulte Wagerem 3-2 in a Belgian First Division B clash that took place on Sunday.

Omollo, who signed for the Belgian outfit in July, has made five appearances for the side, but had been left out of the side’s recent matches, before making a return to the side.

Oostende took the lead after fifteen minutes after a well-organized attack by the hosts resulted in Ewan Henderson hitting the ball beautifully into the far corner of the net.

The Coastal Boys doubled their lead in the 38th minute when Berte laid off for Daniel Perez who easily tapped in (2-0) .

Just before half-time, the home team suffered a minor blow when Laes Machado gave away a penalty in the box.

The experienced  Jelle Vossen showed no mercy and sent the Oostende goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 2-1 into the break.

The equalizer came quite quickly in the second half when substitute Dylan Demuynck found Vossen in front of goal and he nodded the equalizer to make it 2-2.

Oostende would however have the last laugh in the 91st minute. A defensive mistake left Mohamed Berte gratefully accepting the gift and then placing the ball into the back of the net to give them all the three points.

Omolo represented the national team at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and scored a goal against Tanzania, which helped the team win 3–2, but the result was Kenya could not leave the group
