Coach Sadiq Ssempijji parted ways with Mbarara City after guiding them to promotion. He is the prime candidate to take over at Jinja North.
The coach admits that the job is challenging but has promised to prepare the team for the season.
“It is going to be a tough assignment, but we have the right experience to see to it that we achieve the target,” Ssempijji said after his unveiling on Monday.
Good foundation
He takes over from coaches Abdulswamadu] Musafiri and Fred Lumu, who could only manage a 10th-place finish with only 39 points after 30 games.
“My predecessors [Abdulswamadu] Musafiri and Fred Lumu did a good job of setting the team up and left a good foundation which we can use to build. The team has several good players, but we shall add a few to boost the squad,” he added.
Ssempijji is credited for reassembling a tattered Mbarara City outfit into a team that won promotion.
