Kobs' Pius Ogena leads the try scorers' charts with 13 tries from 10 games

Aaron Ofoyrwoth might be out of action for his club Platinum Credit Heathens at the moment, but he still leads the scoring charts after ten match days of the season.

The Heathens scrumhalf is one of the players out of league action and focusing on the Uganda Sevens.

By the time he left, Ofoyrwoth had scored 85 points for his club and remained the top scorer with eight games left in the season.

Makerere Impis' Henry Nsekuye has also been in top-scoring form, especially with his boot. The flyhalf missed the team's recent clash with Heathens through injury but remains on course with 84 points, just one behind Ofoyrwoth.

With the Sevens players expected most the large part of the second round, Nsekuye will be confident of topping the charts in the near future.

Stanbic Black Pirates' captain Ivan Magomu is also in the run for top points scorer with 73 points.

Closely behind the Rugby Cranes skipper is Kobs utility back Joseph Aredo with 69 points.

The Kobs' liner was in great form before suffering an injury that saw him miss the side's 30-25 win over Pirates at King's Park.

Meanwhile, Kobs' Pius Ogena leads the try scorers' charts with 13 tries from 10 games.

The eighth man has been in top form for the table leaders and picked up several man-of-the-match accolades along the way.

He was also named the Fortebet Real Stars Rugby Player of the month for February and remained Kobs' leading man in the search for tries.

Ogena's opposite at Heathens, Scot Oluoch, helped himself to a hattrick against Impis over the weekend to move to 10 tries.

Lawrence Ssebuliba, who scored a hattrick against Plascon Mongers, is third with eight tries, the same number as Kobs'winger Karim Arinaitwe.

Unsurprisingly, the two teams with the most names on the top scorers' charts lead the way in the title race.

Kobs, on 45 points, are top of the log, while Heathens are closely monitoring the situation in second place and on 44 points.

Pirates are third on the log with 43 points.
