South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns have tabled a new one-year contract for veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

The South African Football News outlet Soccer Luduma reported the above development early this week.

Mamelodi Sundowns will now wait to hear from the former Uganda Cranes captain about the offer intended for him.

From the Brazilians', it has always been clear they want Onyango to continue at the club even after his retirement by venturing into a coaching role at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

He has been a royal servant to the club for 12 years, winning 15 titles and several individual accolades.

Onyango has won 18 trophies in total in South Africa, including the three PSL titles he won at SuperSport United.

The Ex-SC Villa custodian has also won 10 PSL titles, the most of any other player in the competition's history.

With the ongoing trend in Saudi Arabia, reports last week had it that Saudi clubs are following up on four Mamelodi Sundowns players.

Whether Onyango is one of them is a story for another day, but an offer for a new deal is on the table from his current club.
