Adli's strike helps Tella's Leverkusen survive late Heidenheim scare

Nigeria's Nathan Tella was a substitute while Amine Adli saved the day for Bayer Leverkusen at Heidenheim.

Moroccan superstar Amine Adli turned out to be the hero as Bayer Leverkusen survived a late scare to extend their unbeaten run against Heidenheim. 

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Bundesliga newbies netted a late goal to give the leaders a scare during their 2-1 defeat at home on Saturday. 

Leverkusen survive Heidenheim

Nigeria’s Nathan Tella came off the bench for the Bundesliga high-flyers but it was fellow Africa Adli who saved their skin.

Jeremie Frimpong opened the scoring just before half time assisted by Adli, who doubled the advantage nine minutes from time for Xabi Alonso’s men.

With time running out, Heidenheim pulled one back three minutes from time through Tim Kleindienst to make it a tense final minutes. 

Nigeria’s Tella came on just moments after the hosts halved the deficit and put up a good defensive display.

Despite an interesting final minutes, Adli’s goal turned out to be the decisive winner as Leverkusen held on for an important.

The victory means Bayer have extended their impressive run to 32 matches unbeaten and lead at the top to eight points.
