Mikel Arteta must win the Premier League next season according to one of Arsenal's invincibles
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann believes there’s one major tweak Mikel Arteta must make if he truly wants to conquer the Premier League next season.

While Arteta’s side continues to impress with their progress under the Spanish manager, Lehmann insists that style alone won’t be enough, especially with the weight of expectations growing heavier at the Emirates.
Gunners legend points finger at Arteta
Reflecting on the 2024/25 title race that once again saw Arsenal fall short, Lehmann admitted that the Gunners were handed an opening that they simply failed to exploit, saying, “This year, they could have won the League, Man City dropped a little bit, Liverpool replaced them.”

Lehmann believes the difference between coming close and crossing the finish line lies in one thing: Arteta’s mentality.
“Next year he has to win,” the ex-Gunner noted, before adding, “but he probably needs to change his personality a little bit to win things.”

In Lehmann’s eyes, Arteta’s tendency toward control and caution may be holding the team back at critical moments, and he believes the Arsenal boss “could be a little more risky,” in order to win titles.
Pressure mounting on Arteta after consecutive close calls
After three impressive seasons of title contention, the bar has now been permanently raised for Arsenal, who are no longer underdogs, and Arteta’s men are expected to bring silverware home soon.

The Premier League title has eluded Gunners fans to their frustration in recent seasons, and Lehmann believes that next season simply has to be the one.
As the final weeks of the season approach and Arsenal gear up for a possible Champions League final, Lehmann remains hopeful, saying, “Next week is super important. I cross my fingers that they will score two goals and will not concede one."
