FUFA has confirmed that Ayub Khalifa will be in charge of the Uganda Crested Cranes in the Olympics Qualifier

FUFA has confirmed that Ayub Khalifa will be in charge of the Uganda Crested Cranes against Rwanda in the upcoming 2024 Olympics qualifier.

The Crested Cranes will host the first leg of the first-round encounter on July 11th before flying for the second leg a week later.

With the process to search for the next head coach still pending, Fufa has confirmed that Khalifa will be in charge.

“The team summoned will be under the stewardship of Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi, who, upon appointment as Uganda U20 Women’s National Team head coach, became the assistant coach of the senior team in the new changes made by the FUFA Executive Committee,” FUFA confirmed.

The coach was reinstated as the national under-20 football team manager early this month and was later handed the under-18 role on an interim basis for the CECAFA assignment.

Khalifa has summoned a team of 35 players that will enter camp on Thursday 28th, to start preparations.

The aggregate winner of the tie will face Cameroon in the second round.
