FOOTBALL CAF and FIFPRO pledge better wages, welfare for African players

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFPRO Africa members gathered at the FIFPRO Africa Congress in Gaborone, Botswana, where they pledged to work hand in hand to elevate African football to global excellence.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) Africa have joint efforts to ensure that players on the African continent receive better pay.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFPRO Africa members gathered at the FIFPRO Africa Congress in Gaborone, Botswana, where they pledged to work hand in hand to elevate African football to global excellence.

The collaboration between CAF and FIFPRO holds tremendous promise for the future of the game on the African continent.

With a shared vision of making African football one of the best in the world, both organizations are set to drive significant advancements and improvements in various aspects of the sport.

“CAF is committed to promoting and advancing the interests and rights of our football players, clubs, national teamsand all football stakeholders on the African Continent,” Motsepe stated.

“The biggest investment we can make is in our football players and youth football."

FIFPRO Africa President Geremie Njitap commended Dr. Motsepe's leadership and the collaboration between FIFPRO and CAF, stating, "Footballers are proud about what we see at CAF today.”

“We thank Dr. Motsepe for engaging with us and also for his leadership at CAF. We want to work closely with CAF.”

“We leave with a feeling that we are moving in the same direction. We are ready to work together while maintaining our own identities with the objectives of renewing our corporation agreement."
