Victor Osimhen has been urged to dump Napoli for Arsenal following a video making fun of his penalty miss against Bologna

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been offered solace from current Napoli troubles by British journalist Piers Morgan, who has begged him to leave Naples to join Arsenal instead.

Osimhen’s Napoli paradise in trouble

Osimhen’s follow-up to a magical 2022/23 season where he won the Serie A Golden Boot and Scudetto has been just shy of disastrous.

The Nigerian striker has been unable to replicate his form from last season under new manager Rudi Garcia, scoring only three times in the opening six matches of the season for Napoli, who have also struggled as a result.

In the Partenopei’s most recent match, Osimhen failed to find the net yet again and worse still missed a late penalty before flaring up at his coach when he was taken off.

Osimhen has since apologised for his aggression towards the head coach during the match, but has already picked up a new aggression against the club itself after Napoli’s TikTok account posted a video making fun of Osimhen’s penalty miss.

Osimhen urged to leave Napoli

Following backlash, Napoli’s account on the social media platform deleted the video, but with Osimhen considering legal action, the Nigerian’s time at the club seems to be coming to a shocking end.

Journalist Piers Morgan, who unofficially engineered the exit of Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo from the club in 2022 has now waded in on Osimhen’s situation asking the Super Eagles forward to leave Napoli due to the “disrespect” he was shown.

Morgan, a life-long Arsenal fan encouraged Osimhen to join the Gunners where he would receive maximum respect in a message posted on social media platform X.

The former BBC anchorman wrote, “Don’t take this terrible treatment @victorosimhen9 -  come to Arsenal instead.”

Osimhen was linked with a number of top clubs in the summer including the Gunners, but was adamant on staying with Napoli, however, given the recent events. He might be forced to change his mind.
