Former Atletico Madrid striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink talks about Anthony and goalscoring.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised Antony's performance in Manchester United's victory over Nottingham Forest but says the winger needs to start scoring more goals.

Hasselbaink was a seasoned goalscorer himself, winning two Premier League Golden Boots while playing for Leeds United and Chelsea, and he believes scoring more is the way the Brazilian winger can become more important.

What Hasselbaink said

The retired Dutch striker was speaking after the Red Devils' win over the Tricky Trees, in which Antony scored the opener and assisted the second, when he mentioned the importance of goalscoring for the Brazil international.

Hasselbaink thought the 21-year-old needed to start scoring more important goals, like the opener he grabbed against Forest, rather than another goal in a Manchester United haul.

He went on to praise the forward's general performance in the game, saying he had a good outing, and excellent delivery to find Dalot for the second goal.

“It's important he's getting the 1-0, not the 4-0. He needs to score more goal,” he said on Sky Sports, per the BBC.

“He's got the quality to pick Dalot out [for the second goal]. He had a good game, he was comfortable even on his left.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United are expected to be in the market for defensive additions in the summer, and they have reportedly set their sights on AS Monaco's Axel Disasi.

The 25-year-old has been impressive for Les Rouges et Blanc, attracting suitors from top European teams. The Red Devils are now reported to be the most likely to land the France international.

The three-time Champions League winners have reportedly sent scouts on multiple occasions to watch the defender in action for Monaco this season, and they are said to have been impressed with his quality.
