Nabadda has also become only the second Ugandan referee to officiate at the Olympics in history since Ali Tomusange in Sydney, Australia in 2000.

Massively respected Ugandan female referee Shamirah Nabadda was selected among the match officials to oversee football matches at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Nabadda is among the 89 match officials selected by FIFA including 21 referees, 42 assistant referees, 20 video officials and six support referees.

Upon making the feat, she automatically becomes the first female Ugandan referee to officiate in the history of the Olympics Games.

Nabadda has also become only the second Ugandan referee to officiate at the Olympics in history since Ali Tomusange in Sydney, Australia in 2000.

Nabadda, who will be among six support referees, is also one of the four female match officials from Africa.

The other three include Moroccans Bouchra Karboubi, Jermoumi Fatiha along with Zambian Diana Chikotesha.

Previously, Nabadda has officiated at the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations and the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2023.
