Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq's 5th goal earns Valencia a 1-1 draw vs Rayo, leading fans to hail the Super Eagles star, but he'll miss the next match due to a yellow card.

Valencia’s Super Eagles star Umar Sadiq continued his heroics, securing a vital point in a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano, as Los Che edge further from the relegation zone and eye European qualification.

The Nigerian striker’s 75th-minute equaliser, his fifth goal this season, cancelled out a first-half own goal by César Tarrega, who inadvertently nodded a Pedro Diaz cross into his own net under pressure from Randy Nteka.

Valencia dominated early, with Hugo Duro missing a promising chance, while Rayo’s Jorge de Frutos was denied by a spectacular save from Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Despite Rayo’s second-half pressure, Mamardashvili’s heroics kept Valencia in the game until Sadiq pounced on a rebound after his initial shot struck the post.

This point marks the sixth Sadiq has earned for Valencia this season, highlighting his growing importance since his transfer.

Fans took to social media to praise the striker’s impact. One supporter wrote, “It may be better or worse, but it always adds up, and few players give you that.”

Umar Sadiq has scored 5 goals for Valencia in LALIGA this season.

Another declared, “Sadiq always gives us points,” while a third quipped, “Umar Sadiq has more goals with one leg than Hugo Duro and Rafa Mir with two.”

However, Valencia will miss their talisman in Tuesday’s crucial midtable clash against Espanyol at Mestalla, as Sadiq’s fifth yellow card of the season triggered a one-match suspension.

Sadiq is suspended for the next game after his 5th yellow card of the season.

Despite the setback, Sadiq’s clutch performances continue to fuel optimism among Los Che faithful.
