The Arsenal manager has explained why Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino were not in the XI against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta has seemingly cast doubt on Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino’s participation against Paris Saint-Germain next week.
Both men started the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday as the Ligue 1 side stunned the Premier League outfit 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the defender was not in the squad for the Gunners’ league fixture against Bournemouth, while the midfield man, who has played as a makeshift forward, was on the bench.

Maximum points for the Gunners would take them closer to sealing second place, which is far from guaranteed after Manchester City’s upturn in results and Newcastle United also closing in with positive results.
