Uganda Cranes legend Jackson Mayanja 'Mia Mia' has quashed reports of extending his contract at Rwanda Premier League outfit Sunrise FC.

The versed tactician, who has guided the team to a complete renaissance, has clarified that the news making rounds is far from factual.

Jackson Mayanja is currently Sunrise FC head coach in Rwanda

"We're doing great as a team, and I am happy, but I have not signed a new contract yet," Mayanja told Pulse Sports in an interview.

"In case of any developments, the world will surely know," the former KCCA FC tactician added.

It should be noted that Mayanja was appointed new Sunrise head coach just in November last year, but his excellent performances have since sparked reports of a fresh contract.

At the time Mayanja assumed office, Sunrise languished at rock bottom with just six points in eight matches.

Twelve games since, the club has ascended to eighth on the 16-team log with 25 points.

His spell at Sunrise has seen Mayanja earn the 'Professor' moniker from the club loyalty.
