Former KCCA FC player and manager Jackson Mayanja is the favoured option as deputy to newly appointed head coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil, according to sources.
KCCA announced Sergio as the new manager on Monday but is yet to name his deputy.
Mayanja, who took charge of the club after Morley Byekwaso’s resignation, was one of the names mentioned in the head coach conversation, but KCCA went foreign to bring in the former Township Rollers tactician.

Sergio is a Portuguese tactician who started his coaching career at Sports Lisboa e Benfica, where he was in charge of the club’s youth teams before joining Kaduna United in Nigeria.
Pulse Sports now understands that decision-makers at the club are inclined towards keeping Mayanja around as the assistant manager.

REPORTS Key KCCA defender close to contract renewal
He is reported to be among the players that the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions hope to build their project around, as they seek a return to their glory days.
He managed to win 4-1 against SC Villa in his first match in charge and also went on to beat Gaddafi 1-0 and Soltilo Bright Stars 5-0.
A dramatic 2-2 draw with Onduparaka was the other result for Mayanja, who saw KCCA finish level on 53 points with champions Vipers SC.
Vipers won the title on goal difference, and KCCA will be hoping to build on last season’s late charge in the fight for next season’s trophy.
