Ikwaput leaves Cyprus for Kampala on a two-year deal after an impressive record with Omonia Nicosia.

"Kampala Queens FC is proud to confirm the signing of striker Fazila Ikwaput from Omonia WFC (Cyprus) on a two-year contract deal. Welcome to the Palace Fazila," the club announced.

Ikwaput netted 19 goals in 18 games for Omonia Nicosia after joining last year in August from Uganda.

A star in fine form

The forward has been in fine form and was the Most Valuable Player at the CECAFA Women's Championship held in Uganda last year.

Ikwaput guided the Crested Cranes to their maiden title, winning the trophy on home soil. Ikwaput scored six goals, one less than the golden boot winner.

Before the CECAFA tournament, Ikwaput was the star player for Lady Doves FC in their maiden league title win and was also the top scorer and most valuable player.

In the FUFA Women's Super League, she shared the boot with Crested Cranes vice-captain Hssifah Nassuna bagging a whopping 16 goals tally each.

Ikwaput's star would rise higher as she was also noted in the prestigious CAF Awards in the CAF Young Player of the Year and CAF Women Player of the Year categories, respectively.

Ikwaput will be charged with leading the Kampala Queens offensive in the regional club championships, CECAFA.
