Former Busoga United defender Nicholas Mwere scored the lone goal with 12 minutes left on the clock to seal the win.

BUL FC’s head coach Abbey Kikomeko, has emphasized that the club is at the same level with Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC, Vipers and URA FC.

The club broke their decade-long jinx two years ago when they beat Vipers to win the Stanbic Uganda Cup under Alex isabirye.

Kikomeko took over this season and started his tenure with a victory in the FUFA Super 8 after whizzing through SC Villa, Vipers and URA.

The side from Jinja beat KCCA FC 1-0 on Saturday in Njeru to record their second win from as many games in the league, which, Kikomeko says, should not be a surprise.

“KCCA and BUL are almost the same class, and I believe we’re capable of being in that position,” Kikomeko said after their win.

His former Busoga United defender Nicholas Mwere scored the lone goal with 12 minutes left on the clock to seal the win.

Kikomeko praised his players for playing under his instructions.

“It was a tough game, but the boys played under instructions,” he adds, “because when you win the Super 8, every team that comes to play against you puts their A-game. So, scoring a goal against such teams is not easy, but all that matters is the win.”

Defender Walter ochora was named the man of the match.
