‘We wanted to get back to winning ways’ - Lookman reacts to Monza thrashing, hails teammate impact
Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman showed his happiness after helping Atalanta defeat Monza on Sunday afternoon.
As it happened
Ademola Lookman made the starting lineup after earlier reports that he was a doubt for the game following an injury he sustained in their 4-0 win over Monza last weekend.
His inclusion in the starting eleven paid off for Atalanta as the Super Eagles star got the opening goal of the game from a first-time shot after receiving a nice pass from Charles De Ketelaere.
However, Atalanta were pegged back before the half-time break after Bryan Cristante got onto a deflected cross to head the ball into the net.

In the second half, AS Roma got a penalty after a supposed foul in the box, but the VAR checked and cleared the incident, reversing the referee’s penalty decision.
Ibrahim Sulemana gave the host the lead late in the game after getting at the end of a shot that rebounded towards his path.
Atalanta held on to their narrow lead until the final whistle, with the win sealing their ticket to next season's UCL tournament.
