Erik ten Hag's struggling Manchester United side lost their third game in four Champions League group stage matches this season to hit a new low.

Manchester United came into the clash against Copenhagen needing a win to stay alive in the group and give themselves a great chance at progressing.

The game started in excellent fashion for Ten Hag's men as summer signing Rasmus Hojlund scored twice inside the first 30 minutes to give the visitors what should have been an insurmountable lead.

However, things began to change when Marcus Rashford was sent off for dangerous play and Ten Hag's men crumbled.

After Copenhagen scored a penalty to tie the game at 2-2, Manchester United became the first team in UEFA Champions League history to concede a penalty in their first four games of a CL season.

United are now bottom of the group and must now avoid defeat in their next two games to even stand a chance of qualifying for the next round.
